Plate nester
Enter your rectangular parts and pick a stock sheet size to see how many sheets you need, with a layout of each sheet.
Rectangles only for now. Guide figures only: our laser nesting software will usually do better, and sheet sizes vary, so ask us to confirm.
Parts (rectangles)
How it works. Parts are nested with the MaxRects method (best short side fit, best area fit and bottom-left), with 90° rotation if allowed, trying several sort orders and keeping the layout with the fewest sheets. Each part is given the spacing on its sides, and the edge margin is kept clear round the sheet. Weights use densities of 7.85 g/cm³ for carbon steel, 7.9 g/cm³ for stainless and 2.71 g/cm³ for aluminium 1050. Rectangles only for now.
